About Me
I am an Educational Psychologist with a deep commitment to supporting children in a holistic way, helping them feel empowered to claim their space in the world. I adopt a client-centred therapeutic approach, integrating elements of Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural therapies, to create a warm, supportive environment where children can grow, develop, and reach their full potential.
My Why
“I want to inspire holistic growth in children so that they are empowered to own their space in the world.”
My journey with barriers that prevent individuals from learning effectively isn’t just professional—it’s personal. My son was diagnosed with ADHD (inattentive type) in Grade 1, and like many parents, I faced the uncertainty and questions that come with it. The Covid-19 pandemic was both a curse and a blessing in that stepping in as his teacher during those months opened my eyes to just how much he struggled. I was initially hesitant about medication, but with the right support, I came to understand that he was a bright and capable boy, but his struggles with attention made it difficult for him to engage with his learning environment and reach his full potential. This experience deepened my empathy for children who face learning challenges and strengthened my commitment to helping families navigate this journey with the right support and understanding.
Beyond my professional world, I’m a wife and a proud boy-mom. My heart belongs to nature, where I find peace, along with good music, and the joyful energy of my dogs. Whether it’s a quiet moment with my favourite playlist or an adventure under the open sky, I cherish the simple things that bring balance and joy to my life.
“Educational Psychologists are “hope catchers”; when everyone else is finding out what a child cannot do, they explore what the child can do and what support they need to be the very best versions of themselves”
(Educational Psychology Today, 2017)
